This service protects your cellphone’s SIM card from any unauthorised use. With this service you’ll be able to control the types of calls being made and / or received with your MTN SIM card.
Call 808 / 083 1 808. You will need a four digit barring code. Initially this will be 0000. You should create a personal barring code for security. Please consult your cellphone’s instruction manual.
Call Barring allows you to determine what type of calls your SIM card is allowed either to make (outgoing) and / or to receive (incoming). Please consult your cellphone’s manual to see which services are available through your cellphone’s features.
Domestic: national / local calls – incoming and / or outgoing. International - outgoing.
This service allows you to block the making and / or receiving of domestic calls from your SIM card.
Roaming: incoming calls.
As you have to pay for receiving calls while roaming internationally, you might want to block receiving calls while you are out of the country. You will still be able to make calls, but all incoming calls will be diverted to your VoiceMail.
Fixed dialling: closer group access (handset dependent).
This cellphone-dependent service allows you to restrict all outgoing calls being made to a specified list of numbers.
