MTN CallBack is a free service from any MTN cellphone. By dialling *121*(cellphone number)# from your phone, you automatically send a request to that number asking them to call you back.

There's no need to type a message or incur the cost of an SMS: it's free and it’s easy to use!

How do I get it?

This service is available to all MTN subscribers.

How does it work?

Dial *121*(cellphone number)# and push the green dial button, as if to start a call. An SMS containing your cellphone number will be sent to the recipient. Dial *121# to personalise your CallBack SMS with your name, and to check how many free CallBack messages you have left for the day.

What does it cost?

This service is free to all MTN subscribers. You can send up to five free CallBack requests per day to any South African cellphone network. CallBack messages are especially useful if you’re a PayAsYouGo customer and don’t have any airtime left. In case of emergencies, rather dial 112, the MTN Emergency Call service, than send a CallBack request.
