How do I get it?

If you can send an SMS from your cellphone, then you can use MTN’s SMS2email service. It is really that simple.

How does it work?

Sending a message:
Using your cellphone, select Messages and then Write Messages. Type in the email address to which you want to send the message, followed by a space, and then your message, like this:

yello@isp.co.za Hi GF, gonna b l8 2nite. SWALK, M

Send your SMS to 083 123 MAIL (083 123 6245). If your phone doesn't allow you to type the @ symbol and/or an underscore, you can type (a) instead of an @ symbol and (u) for an underscore.

Replying to a message:
Should the recipient wish to reply to your message, they do so in exactly the same way they would reply to any other eMail.

What does it cost?

The charge is R1.00 per 160-character text message sent (including VAT).
